The psychology of love is a science, the study of which requires a lot of time and patience. After all, when a person experiences this feeling, his mind recedes into the background. All his knowledge, intelligence, manners, all this loses its meaning, and becomes insignificant against the background of his exciting hurricane of emotions. And what is most interesting, people themselves want this disharmony, these bright outbreaks, ecstasy, sea of emotions, jealousy, sweets. People want to love! Why? What is love? The psychology of love is an attempt to give a definition of love, to study its patterns, an attempt to predict its development.
Love is an important part of the life of any person. Problems may arise in love. Therefore, we need a science that will engage in their solution. This science is – the psychology of love.
For centuries, people are trying to find an explanation – what is love. After all, the explanation of the phenomenon is the first step to mastering it. But still there is no single definition of love. In addition, people are faced with other equally important issues. Can a person live without love? Is love always the most important thing? What is love? To children, to parents, to their people or the opposite sex – where the line of the differences in these concepts? What is true love and what is fake?
The psychology of love between a man and a woman is based on several types of love.
1. Eros – Love based on passion and sexual attraction. For partners, each other’s appearance is important. Such relationships develop rapidly, rapidly. Partners believe that they are intended for each other.
2. Lyudus is love-flirt. The partner first has a desire to satisfy his own desires and needs. And for this he can build relationships simultaneously with several chosen ones. This type of love does not require the depth of feelings for each other.
3. Storge-Love-Druzhba. Partners are usually similar to each other according to many criteria, they understand each other well and always find support in each other. Passion in such a relationship flares up slowly, based on friendship.
4. Pragma – “Love by calculation”. This is love based on benefit. It involves mundane, pragmatic relations. Partners know that they want from each other and clearly express their conditions.
5. Maniaa – Love based on emotions. This type of love is attributed to the concept of romantic. Partners are overcome by passion, obsession and dependence on each other.
6. Agape – Giving Love. Partners think about the needs and desires of each other. Trying to do everything for the sake of a loved one. This love is based on dedication, it is full of sacrifice and self -denial.
Scientists have determined that men prefer love – Lyudos, and women – Storge or Pragma. And the key to strong relations is a coincidence of partners of the types of love. The most durable relationships are built on love – Eros, and the least strong on love – Lyudos.
In the psychology of love, there is another classification of types of love. It was developed by the American psychologist Rollo May:
1. Sex
2. Eros
3. Filia – Love based on friendly relations
4. Agape (Karitas) – Love based on care for each other.
It is believed that true love combines all of the above types.
The psychology of love, as a science, arose for a long time, but scientists and researchers have to reveal more than one of its secrets.
