It should be said that in the specific conditions of free territories with an abundance of greenery and a decrease in the number of storeys different from other city districts, it is advisable not only from the point of view of the most rational resolution of the construction and operation of residential buildings, but also from the point of view of a more organic connection of development with natural ones features of the sites. Eight -story buildings are poorly combined with a local landscape. They give the development of a purely urban character, as if distort a person by nature, preventing him from fully using the rich natural data of these territories, which have all the advantages of the suburban zone. However, taking into account all considerations that speak in favor of the transition to the development of free territories by houses no higher than five floors, one should not fall into another extreme and completely exclude from practice the construction of individual higher buildings, sometimes appropriate in composition of their apartments and necessary as one of the means of architectural artistic expression. The leveling of the number of storeys, the rejection of any high-altitude accents impoverishes the silhouette of the building, gives it monotony and deprives individual traits. In particular, in the characteristic conditions of Mazilov with his difficult relief, interspersed into five -story residential arrays of a small number of increased floors could emphasize the peculiarity of the natural characteristics of the territory and give the composition a greater acute. In the process of working on the project, the author’s team proposed a similar solution, placing several eight -story houses of the so -called tower type at higher relief points. Unfortunately, this proposal did not receive the support of the architectural and construction council APU. Perhaps, reserve areas should be provided for the subsequent construction of buildings of increased number of storeys temporarily used for intra -quarter landscaping.
